76s in the BB against a steal-raise

I have about T26,000, in the top 5 chip stacks. Blinds at 200/400/50. Folded to the button with ~T6,000 who makes it T1,500. I find 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and I push.

It's getting close to the bubble, about 105 left, top 70 pay.

Thoughts?

At first blush, I like the push. But it depends on your table image and his. His M is 5-6 so he could be raising with anything. If you have a reputation of defending your blinds aggressively, I'd probably fold. However, if you've backed down a few times recently, the push is good.... assuming he's a thinking player.

My thinking was that regardless of what he held, if he folds, he'll have a halthy chip stack and if he calls, all of his chips are on the line and its near the bubble.

Now, if I'm called, the worst case scenario is if I'm up against an over pair and I'm still only like 3:1, I'm a slight favorite against underpairs and only about 60/40 against high cards.

I think this is pretty standard. You don't lose much if you are called by over cards. If villain is very tight or won't fold, then maybe not.
