All fold to Hero on button, who raises to $35 with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Villian (BB) only calls.

FLOP ($75) J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Villian checks. Hero bets $55. Villian calls.

TURN ($185) K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Villian checks. Hero bets $130 -- I almost checked.
Villian raises to $260. Hero calls.

RIVER ($705) Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Villian goes allin $107, Hero calls (just in case, hmmm).

Normally when I think of checking, but then bet anyway because I like my hand, I regret it afterwards.

With villian's shortstack, I just push the turn. No need to second guess yourself and no need give him room to outplay you. You put the maximum pressure on your opponent, and you have a nice draw in case you are behind.

Easy call, in your situation, on river. I would have definitly pushed the turn. If he has you beat, tough break.
