Suited 1 gapper in the BB

180 person SnG on Stars. About 40 left. Blind 100/200 25 ante. Orbit before 4 limpers to me in the BB. I raise to 1200 with rags and take down the pot.

Virtually the same scenario on next orbit. 3 limpers, SB complates and its to me in the BB and I sit with 5080 chips and 9c7c. This time I take my free play and check.

Flop is 9s 5c 2s

1000 in the pot

I?

TPWK...I check to see what the table does. Its checked to the button who bets 2000, SB folds,

I?

You should be betting this to begin with, I don't like checking and allowing yourself into situations like this (or having it checked around and then seeing broadway come on the turn). With the bet of 2K in front of you, it's very read dependent, but it's a push or fold scenario. Players to act behind you, but they likely don't have much here. I lean towards folding without a read.

Stack sizes are relevant here and should be posted.

You're slightly behind with your t4t800, but it's far from panic mode yet. I dont mind checking TPWK from BB in a multi-way pot. If you're called you don't know what your up against. If you're raised you have to fold. So you might as well have made the bet without hitting any part of the flop.

I don't mind folding here.

Calling pretty much means playing for all of your chips (stack of villian depending), and if you're up against two overs and a flush draw you're just barely getting the right odds. If you're up against pocket deuces or A9 you're toast.

Best,

I think this goes back to Jason's point he made very well a while ago. Bet out in this situation, and you dont have to put yourself in a tough situation OOP. If you bet 800 or so, odds are good that you take down the pot.

I decided not to bet out for the reason Johan stated, if its raised, I dont know where I am. If I check and theres action, I don't mind giving this one up. The interesting bet from the button 2X the pot is what made me think.

Was this an overbet to buy the pot?

Now its push or fold.

My thoughts way off base here?
