Erick Lindgren\'s Book
 

I was wondering if anyone has read Erick Lingren's new book: Making the Final Table? Is it worth the $10? Will I learn anything new? I was particularly interested in how in depth he goes in his heads up section. I noticed it was only 200 pages so my initial thought was that it probably isn't very good. The Hold em related book I've already read are: TOP,HOH1 & 2,SS2,Phil Gordan's Little Green Book, SSHE, & Caro's Book of Tells. Any help would be appreciated.

Actually, the book is pretty good, but too short, and pretty basic. Probably worth 10 bucks, though, there are some good thoughts on tournament strategy.

The advice this book contains is very general, although worthwhile. As you point out, the book is short and contains a few interesting ideas, but it's more about a mental approach toward tournaments than it is a strategy book. Whether it's worth reading depends on your experience level and what you're looking for. By no means does it rank with the other books you mentioned.

Very basic book. I actually found it worth more for the entertainment factor than the poker stratigy. I don't think its worth buying but if you have an hour to kill in a bookstore...

I haven't read it, but Shuffle up and Deal was another WPT book and it was too basic. I expect the buyers that WPT are trying to attract are not very advanced. I know Antonio Esfandiari also has a WPT book coming out as well. If you like these guys, it might be nice to see what they are thinking, but dropping $10-20 everytime a book comes out gets old since so many new books are always coming out. Phil Gordon's latest book was a really nice surprise. I would bet this Lindgren book is too short and basic to be worthwhile for you.
