82o on button 6xBB

Party $200/$200K, ITM about 100 players left. Blinds 1K/2K. You have 12.5K on button. SB has 90K and BB 26K. It is passed to you with 82o. Push or fold?

I fold, you can take the whole orb to find SOMETHING better to push with.

I tend to be picky where I push when I'm so short stacked. I want a semi-decent hand to go with at least.

I like to have at least a slight hand but I think either are ok, i'd probably be weak and fold.

No antes on Party, I fold and wait for a better spot. You get to see 8 more hands for free, and I'm sure one of them will be better than 82o.

I didn't even realize that. All the more reason to fold IMO.

well, call me crazy, but i'd love this position, any time it's folded to me on the button, and i'm short, those chances don't come along often for the short stack,so i'm pushing most often here, and actually would rather 2 live cards instead of a hand that can be easily dominated/common card, chances of being called are by big aces, unlikely a pair in the blinds,so 8-2 plays decent there.
i got myself to a final table last night with a similar play, opened all in on the button with 9-4 short stacked, and called by sb with aj,won, and got myself back in it.
most often blinds fold and you pick up valuable chips, that will give you more fold equity and a better double up if it comes in the next revolution.

You might find something better to push with, but what are the odds you'll be in good position in a pot that has yet been raised?

There are a lot of considerations I'd take before pushing, like the blinds stack sizes, calling reqs, and overall table aggression, but absent of all that I'd push.

I prefer to have somewhat of hand worth showing down. At least I stand the chance of winning with a high card. With 82os you're basically going to have to hit against anything that would call you.

Hey Betgo....
How the table see you right now?? Have you been in a lot of pots lately or do most of them see you as a tight player witha short stack. If they suspect you would push any two here then this is a definate fold with no ante, but if you have been showing tight play than you can more often pick up the blinds here unless you run into a STRONG hand.

But im just a donk
