PokerTracker: 6max vs Full Ring databases??

Hey guys,

All of the hands I have in my currently active PokerTracker database are from 6max games.

However, I'm thinking of dabbling a bit in full ring games again.

For those of you who play both, how do you keep your stats seperate?? I don't want PokerTracker/Playerview to mix the stats together. (i.e. When I'm playing 6max, I don't want a players 10-player stats to be skewed by previously played full ring game stats ... and vice versa.)

Do you have to keep seperate databases or what? Or is there some way to have PlayerView filter only 6max vs Ring game stats.... (Note: I believe PlayerView will filter each stats from each limit, but can it distinguish 10/20 full from 10/20 6max).

I keep mine in one big (PostgreSQL) database. When reviewing stats in PT, you can set filters to display just one game level. PT considers 3/6 6-max a different game level than 3/6 full.

As far as I know, all of the HUDs have a way to filter the displayed stats to be for the current game level only. I know GameTime+ does.

I don't think you have to worry much, because most players who play short handed don't play full ring and vice versa. Ocasionally you may get some guys stats from SH that you think is for full ring, but I don't think this happens often.

How hard is that to do? Converting to PostgreSQL

It's easy to do. Probably the hardest part, which isn't hard, is installing PostgreSQL. Converting is easy, it's just a menu option in PT.

This really isn't true in my experience. Especially for good players. I'd be careful. I actively play both, and I've picked up on many others that do also.

If you use PokerAce, you can filter stats for any #-handed game. I use 7-10, 4-6, and 2-3, so shorthanded numbers are never confused and I can mix limits. I've never touched my database.
