laughs as he bets 1000-1500 and villan calls with 2 pair or lower set. I like 1500.

he is going to expect a check behind on the river by AQ/AK type hands so he is not likely to risk no value if he made his hand.

so i listen to yeti and bet.

1500 sounds about right. By the way durrr, did you used to play the paradise NL200/NL500 about a year and a half ago?

I still like 1400; fold to an allin raise. We wouldnt do that without the flush

isn't the flip side to this just as strong for an argument against betting?

Re: stars 10/20, top set, river action?

no? haha

but yeah i see what you are saying.

but i think there is valuje to be eked out of this situation.

i don't like the bigger sized bets and think yeti's 1200 sounds about right. more likely to get called by a worse hand, and will not sting as much if the cockroach checkraises all in on the river.

one point to be made if villain had a hand like a smaller set or twopair wouldn't he try a block bet here? unless of course he suspects you are running a bluff and will continue the bluff with a river raise knocking him off his hand. so he may be check-calling to induce a bluff or show his hand down.

i really think the only sensible hand villain can have is 22 that hates that most of the overpairs have oversetted him and i paying off hoping you have AK. or QJ/JThh.

bet-fold.

another reason for betting vs. checking the river when the decision can be close is a point i have made in other threads:

if i am going to be bluffing on the turn, i do not like people having the general idea that they can get to showdown cheaply against me. i like putting to test on the turn with "god, if i call this....there is another big bet coming at me."
