I bet $5-$6 on the flop instead of $7, easy fold when he raises.

I don't have a problem with your lay down.

Did you give any consideration to a push? I never give enough respect to min raisers, so maybe I am falling into his 'trap' here. I think villain has AA-JJ or AK, which you beat a little over half of his potential holdings if my math is right. This line obviously works better if you have a read.

I might fold to the reraise preflop and would definitely lead out for less on the flop, keeping the pot smaller so that even if he does minraise he isn't going to be all-in when it's all over with.

If I call the reraise and make a continuation bet, like you did, then I definitely fold to the min-raise on the flop. Although I have to admit that I hate min-raises over my continuation bet when I hit the flop for top pair. With AK, I'd probably call the min-raise, check/call the turn, and value bet a safe river card.

There is only one reason to call this flop and that is if villain's pre-flop re-raise represents a Big Pair. If you can flop an Ace you will have hit a really good flop for your hand. Ace, rags, rainbow....about as good as you can realistically expect.

According to Brunson you lead with the strong hand into the raiser. He'll think you're on a steal and pop it back at you. So far you've played this hand "according to Doyle". Now push! If you're going to fold here you had no business calling the pre-flop re-raise.
