Playing for a certain number of hands

If i am 4 tabling full ring 5-10 NL, how many hours would it take me to play 1,000 hands? I am trying to limit the amount I play, so I figure i am going to shoot for playing 1,000 hands a day if I am 4 tabling, but hopefully if I add 2-4 more tables of ring I can sacrifice a bit of bb/100 to play 2,000 hands a day. Whenever i reach the number of hands, I would quit for the day and do something else with my time. Obviously if the table is SUPER juicy i could stay but as a guideline. is this at all reasonable?

When trying to clear a recent deposit bonus, I think I cleared 500 hands of 1/2 6max within 2 hours. This was 8-tabling. I'm normally an SNG player, so when these deposit bonuses come, I try to finish them as quickly as possible.

Do you use pokertracker? If so, you can check your hands/hr for each table in there and come up with a good idea. If I had to take a wild guess I'd say you were getting ~55 hands per/hr/table. So it would take about 4.5-5 hours to get 1000 hands 4-tabling.

At $100NL on Party (.5/1), I average 61 hands per hour per table. Other sites you won't get nearly that many hands per hour though.

Clearly this was 500 RAKED hands.
You played many unraked hands in there too.

On full-tables I would approximate 60 hands/hr per table (little more for a fast-moving limit game, a little less for a slow-moving NL game).

On 6-max limit it can be about 90-95 hands/hr per table.

Might sound like a stupid question, but if you are "trying to limit" how much you play to do something else with your time, why not just play for a fixed amount of time? After all that is the commodity you are looking to invest elsewhere.
