a hand I loved then hated then loved

I wanted to post this because I think I played the river well and I don't think a lot of you would play it the same.

Its live 10/20 game, villan in this hand sat down 3 orbits ago and hasn't played a hand that wasn't his BB. He completed the sb once, then checked and folded.

I raise KQo UTG, villan calls right behind me. Both blinds call.

Flop comes QQT, 2 spades. I bet, villan raises, blinds fold, I three bet, villan four bets, I call.

I check the turn (3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]) (this was horrible, btw. I'd prob throw up in my mouth if he raised the turn, but that's no excuse for not betting it. ) He checks behind.

The river is a total blank and I check.

Doesn't sound like the type that will bet his busted draw here. If he can hand read at all he knows you're not folding right? Why would he bet?

And bet the turn.

My thoughts were that he had zero chance to win this pot without betting and he's not going to call a bet. If he won't call, then there's no value in betting.

Also, for you live players, I have like zero experience with the no cap betting and I wonder if I should have simply 5 bet the flop. ??????

I agree, but I would either keep going to war on the flop or bet the turn too.

Yes, the turn is embarassing. Maybe I should have 5 bet the flop and if he 6 bet, checked the turn.

What is your image? Have you open raised a lot since he has been in the game? What do you put him on?

Figuring he is a reasonably tight player (at least pre-flop), I would give him the following range of hands after the flop: AQ, KQ, QJ, QTs, TT, Ax (spades) and possibly KJs.

When he checked behind on the turn, I discount heavily the possibility of a boat (QT/TT). I think you are ahead nearly all the time.

I think I bet/call the river. A new player that appears tight is less likely to bet the river and give me a chance to check-raise.

My image is solid. I think I've pulled in a small pot or two since he's sat down. The table was a little wild so I wasn't playing many hands.

If I bet the river and he raises, obviously I call every time. He raises here like never though.

If the villian is as tight as you say, is he ever gonna call a 5-bet? I would think at that point its either obvious you have a Q and he folds, or he has TT or A-Q and he 6-bets. I don't think he ever just calls the 5-bet.

I suppose if he just calls the 5-bet I lead the turn. If he 6-bets the flop I can't imagine a hand we beat and would strongly consider folding, considering the passivisity of live games.

I don't get this at all.
How does your read on this guy lead you to believe that you should bet the turn? He's 4-betting the flop for a free card?
