Party and skins are funny headsup - BB has the button and acts last on every betting round. It gives you a distinct advantage when in position and I've been trying to think about how to best abuse it.

When I have position and villain is raising a decent amount I'm calling with almost any two cards. I only fold hands with deuces, treys, and the really bad offsuit junk (94o etc). Is this about correct considering the pot odds I get from a raise, and the fact that I have position and can best gain and save bets? Against very tight raisers I am willing to give up holdings on the weaker end, but I still call at least 60%+. Most players don't defend their BB nearly this much, but I don't think I'm out of line. Am I?

My 3-betting standards also vary with the player raising first in of course, but they are around those discussed in another thread. I try to 3-bet approximately any pocket pair, A7s+, A9o+, K8s+, K9o+, QJs, against the "average" player. Should I be 3-betting more? If so, what hands should I add? Again, I notice that most villains are not 3-betting me all that often. This leads to two questions: Am I in error in my 3-betting range?; If my opponents are the ones making the errors, is there anything to do to capitalise on it, or is seeing the cheap flop all I can do?

When out of position I never limp in, not even to be tricky. Am I giving anything up with my best hands by doing this? My open raising standards are much more opponent dependent than my calling standards in the BB, but I try to raise about 35% of my hands. I play a little tight because I'm going to be out of position for the rest of the hand. Should I be looser despite my positional disadvantage? I often run into TAGs who don't adjust correctly - against them I'll raise closer to 60-70%.

I am also much quicker to give up when out of position - I am reluctant to put in big bets with air against opponents who semi-bluff or only call the flop with a piece. Am I foolish to give up a hand like K9 when I don't have any of the board and villain calls my preflop raise and flop bet? What about A6?

I understand that headsup strategy is very opponent and history dependent, but as a baseline is my play reasonable? What do you consider the most important element of preflop headsup play? What is the most important element of postflop headsup play? Would it be wrong to say, "when in doubt, showdown"?
