Trump Indiana

Has anyone played Trump Indiana, right outside of Chicago? I heard they have 2-5 NL, but that they have a $6 charge per half hour of playing at their tables. Is this true?

Just to summarize the likely responses:

-This gets asked every two weeks/use the search function
-Check out the Poker Wiki
-The game is only a $200 max buy-in
-You won't believe how filthy the $1 chips are until you see them
-I've never actually sat in that game, but that time charge is correct (give or take a buck)

Yup, I think that about covers it.

Lando,

I am in Chicago right now and have been doing fine playing the 5/10 NL @ the resorts casino, about 2 exits farther than Trump. The game I've been playing is supposed to be a 500 max but you could easily buy in for about 1K due to the large chip proportions on the table.

trump used to have a no max buy in 5/5 NL with a $7/half hr time charge in lieu of rake but that is well and gone to the 200 max bull$hit games.

The resorts casino also does not have a rake and their time charge is $8 per 1/2 hour.

Definitely go illini.

My dilema is that I'm only bringing $200, $300 at max. I've been building a bankroll for my trip to mandalay bay and the Vegas marathon in early december. That being said, worst case scenario is somehow I lose 2 hundo, best case I'm up a couple hundo to bring w/ me to vegas. Are there more fish at Trump or Resorts? Also what about Potawatomi in Milwaukee? Being short stacked I'm forced to play the 2/5 game at Trump instead of the 5/10 at Resorts. Does Resorts have any lower limits?

Resorts' lowest limit is 5/10. On weekends, I've found that game to be particularly beatable. I can't imagine a smart, tight, and aggressive player losing 2 to 3 hundred in it. Buy in for $200 or $250 and expect to win. Also, the atmosphere at Resorts is preferable, in my opinion, its a few minutes closer to Chicago, and you won't have to use anti-bacterial soap after touching their $1 chips (compare Trump's, which are disgusting).

Re: Trump Indiana

seriously RW,

$200 max games are not for me and I don't really see the appeal in them.

I like to be at least semi deep when I buy in, sitting with 500-1K in front of me allows for me to play poker, not push small edges to double up and then play poker like a 200 game.

Either way, Trump from what I hear has gone down hill since last I've been there.

As far as the 5/10NL @ resorts, the game is juicy and definitely beatable.

They are now offering 50$ SnG's every weekend all weekend long. First come first serve...you may enjoy those, but I think they are unplayable with a 15$ juice per...

All chips are very dirty. Some are just more obviously dirty. Always wash your hands immediately after cashing out.

A good player can beat the game, but it is volitile since every pot is 5 or 6 ways. you can easily go through a rack in an hour or two if you keep getting outdrawn

I like the room at the Trump. They have a $2-5 NL game that runs all the time. The time charge is $7 per half hour, and they don't rake the pot. If you only have $200-$300 bucks you are better off playing limit. Most raised pots are $20-$25 preflop, so you'd have 10% of your roll in preflop.

Trump spreads $3-6 and $6-12 limit, both games are good, but the rake is high as they drop an extra buck for a bad beat jackpot.

I haven't been to Resorts.
