AA and I called the river

I called this thinking I was beat for sure, so I don't know why I called. Is someone going to tell me to call the river? No reads just sat down.

Getting 5:1, I'd call the river too. If he actually had an 8 then he didn't get anywhere near the value that he should have out of it.

At 25NL I'm sure some idiots will make that value bet on the river with KQ thinking that their 2 pair will be good, not realizing that AA still beats them.

Bet more on the flop (3 or better yet 4).

Slowing down on the turn is good. If villain calls full pot on the flop, check behind on the turn and reevaluate the river.

Here I call the river no question. I am hoping to see K 10, or KQ for two pair that they think beats your AK. Geez, you are getting what, 5.5 to 1 for the river call? I expect a lower two pair often enough to make this worth it.

If villain hit trips on the flop, you haven't lost that much. If villain is a donk with AJ who turned a double gutter and hit on the river, then you now know why you need to bet more on the flop.

The more I think about it, the more I expect to see Kx for villain, but I wouldn't raise the river here.

I would raise more preflop and after the flop. Even after turn. What hands do you put him on? There are a few hands out there that beat yours, but calling a 4$ bet on the river is good odds for a call. (reworded this sentence)

I think the better question is: why were you considering a fold on the river wiht 5.5:1 and a low pair on board?

Call, you are getting like 5.5:1 and you are beating 2 pair hands like KQ.
