What is Poker Room Rate?

I am from sweden and thus completely new to casinos. So forgive my cluelessness.

In a few weeks I am going to vegas to play some poker and I checked the site:

Allvegaspoker

It mentions "Poker Room Rate". What is this? An extra few apart from the rake or?

Regards

It's the price of the hotel room for poker players. I believe you have to play a certain amount of hours to get it in most places, not sure.

"Poker room rate" refers to a special hotel room rate that some casinos offer for those playing poker at the casino.

The understanding is that, for every day of your stay, you will play a certain number of hours in the poker room. In exchange, you get a discounted room rate.

Here are a couple of examples.

Luxor in Las Vegas gives you a 25% discount on the cost of your hotel room if you play 5 hours per day.

Most of the casinos in Tunica Missisippi your hotel room costs $25 per night during the week and $35 on the weekends.

You have to call ahead and get registered usually through the poker room.
