Tell me something about me that sucks.

Please, I can not win, and I am not willing to blame it on bad luck.

For those of you who play with me, lemme know what I do that is fishy.

Your friend, beer.

talk to jeffage, he'll cheer you up

i don't play at your levels, so i can't tell you what you're doing wrong...but if you can't blame it on luck, can you blame it on variance?

uwda, I play at all different levels.. I play where a game is soft, and sometimes I feel like playing higher just cause I like to occasionally play higher stakes. Right now I'm playing 3/6, earlier today I pissed through 400 in 6 max hold em, and 20/40 stud.

I'm not sure where I'm a winner at, but overall I make $$ in the long run. My growth curve just isn't as steep as i'd like.

I'd like to make more.. I'd like to make it worth my time. If I made more, I believe I would stress less. I can handle the variance,(somewhat ) what I can't handle is the fact that i'm somewhat fishy.

More than a pep talk, I'm looking for specific thoughts from those who have played with me.. bart, roland, lstream, emery, beta, jon, frapppeboy.

I don't believe I've ever played a hand with you, but from your posts I feel you could probably tone down the aggression a bit. I'd have to look back through your posts for specific examples.

The whole thing about poker is continuing to try to get better all the time. Never get complacent with your game. EVER. Keep working at it. If you screw up, which I do alot, try to learn from it. That's the only way to stay one step ahead of the crowd and not be swallowed by the variance wave.

It seems like I have things backwards sometimes.. Bart thinks I'm too passive.

That's not saying much - the way Bart plays he likely thinks Ghengis Khan and Attila the Hun were too passive.

Beer,

I think you don't play as well when you are losing. But dont feel bad, I am guilty of the same thing. I think that is the biggest thing that seperates the big winners (like Ironchef) from the small winners.

Keep in mind too that there is much more luck in the long run than most people would like to believe. I once ran a simulation using "Wilson's Software" that was quite interesting. I put 8 of the same players (Tight aggressive) and ran a simulation of 500,000 hands. Keep in mind these players play the exact same way as each other so neither has an edge in the long run. The stakes I ran the simulation at was 5-10 stud.

At the end of the simulation there was a $40,000 spread between the biggest winner and the biggest loser. This means if u play 4 tables 8 hours a day for a year online, you're results can be up to $40,000 off playing 5-10 stud.

Beer, I just won 970 bucks in 30 minutes. I want to keep playing. But I'm tired. And I need to go to sleep a winner tonight. Keep the faith bro, you are a good player. Now back to packing.
