Fallsview 6-12 Competition

I've played 5-10 at B&Ms in the southern Ontario region for a few years and have done quite well. I'm heading to Niagara Fallsview Casino for the first time and plan on playing 6-12. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the caliber of players that play this limit there.

Thanks for listening.

I'm interested in the answer to this question as well. I've played 5-10 before and I could see 6-12 being pretty soft at Fallsview due to the fact that it's the lowest stakes game offered there so it should bring in its fair share of beginner tourists.

Let me know how your experience goes there jazz cuz I'll have to check it out myself sometime in the near future.

I don't know jack about the poker in your neck of the woods, but I can offer the following:

6/12 is going to be soft basically anywhere. 5/10 is a horrible rake structure and tends to tighten up games due to the lack of chips physically in the pot. It may be a bit different in your area, but if you can beat a 5/10 then you can beat pretty much any 6/12 game.

If you can beat Party 1/2, you should be able to man-handle the competition at Fallsview 6/12.

The comp is very weak, full of ace anything and king anything guys. The game plays similar to Party .5/1 . I would say just be prepared for strange beats as these guys chase real bad..

Hey Jazz:

The players at Fallsview are absolutely horrible. As someone just said, if you can beat Party 0.50/1 or 1/2 for anything above about 1 BB/100, you are going to annihilate your typical Fallsview 6/12 player. I play there about twice a month, when my wife and I go up to Wilson, NY, to visit my grandparents there, and I'm beating it for 4.3 BB/hour (admittedly in a very small sample size). More importantly than that, the opposition is about 50% loose-passive fish, 25% loose-aggro or maniacs, 20% predictable rocks, and about 5% (max) good players who are easily identifiable after playing with them for about an hour, and who can sometimes be avoided completely (if there are multiple limit games going on), and you can always avoid butting heads with them on the rare occasion you meet one, since you'll be too busy carving up the fish between the two of you.

I've been begging them to consider adding Stud and Stud/8 ring games, but no dice (or cards), yet.

Re: Fallsview 6-12 Competition

Competition is just as soft as any Brantford or Port Perry 5/10 game.

One thing I dislike about the game is the structure though. They don't have 3$ chips. Some of the drunker/stupider tourists can be extremely slow in counting out 36$ worth of chips when they already have 12 in the pot. Of course these are the types of players you want around . The downside is that you'll end up getting abysmal hands/hour rates, and some slow dealers don't help this. Do youself a favour and play the 10/20 which isn't much harder but extremely more pofitable.
