Foxwoods Info

I'm going to the WPT tournament at Foxwoods and I appreciate if somebody could help me with some info.
I plan to stay from the 12/13 Nov to Wednesday 16

What airport do I need to fly to?

Once there, how far is Foxwoods? Do I need to rent a car? What's the best way to go from the airport to the casino/hotel?

Any hotel recomendations?

Thanks in advance

David

Hartford or Providence.

Rent a car. I think Providence is probably the closest airport, about 45 minutes away or so.

Stay at Foxwoods if possible, but I doubt it is. There is a Holiday (maybe Quality?) Inn about 10 miles away if not. Check out hotels.com.

You can fly into Providence, Boston or Hartford... whichever is cheapest. Its about an hour from each, and unless you want to take a bus, its pretty much in the middle of no where. I know they have bus service to all major cities in the area though, so you might want to call them. Maybe do a websearch. I see the Foxwoods bus here at North Station in Boston most every day. No clue on cost, although I wouldnt imagine its too expensive.

If you cant get a room at Foxwoods, you will definitely need a car since the closest motel is a 10 minute drive or so.

Providence, RI is the closest airport about 30 minutes away. You will have to rent a car to get to Foxwoods and likely to and from Foxwoods as the rooms are sold out for the WPF.

Here is a great alternative hotel that is about 3 miles away: Hilltop Inn and Suites

I stayed at Cedar Park Whirlpool Suites last year because Foxwoods was booked solid. It is only a 10 minute drive to the casino. The rooms were comfortable and the staff were friendly because it is a mom & pop type operation. If I were superstitious I would stay there again, but I planned ahead and got a room at Foxwoods.

i've had very good results looking on hotwire. search for n. stonington, ct. places in mystic are a 10-15 min drive, norwich is 15 mins, new london is 20-30 mins. i've booked cedar park and hilltop through hotwire before and had great results.

The Hilltop may very well be booked and/or have higher rates during the WPF's.

If you don't mind a B&B' style place Foxtrail (860 535 2721) is closer than the Hilltop. Some rooms only have a bathtub, so make sure you ask for one with a shower.

Try the Hilton in Mystic. If things don't go well you can always throw yourself in a shark tank at the aquarium. I used my Hilton points so I have no idea of the price.

Ok, I booked a room at the Hilltop Inn (North Stonington, CT), and looks like they have a shuttle to the casino, I'm flying to Providence.
I would like to know if I really need to rent a car to go from the Providence airport to the Hilltop Inn, any info about a bus, train or any other way to get to the HI?
