Taking notes

I've been searching the forum for some posts on note taking. I havent been able to find anything yet.
I havwe been relying heavily on PT stats while playing and want to start taking notes but I cant seem to figure out how to get started.. What format of do you guys use, do you have any tips for taking notes..
If this has all been covered can someone point me to the right thread?

Re: Taking notes

I have a two-tiered approach to notes. The first tier is shorthanded notes on how they play specific hands. For example:

db trips 998 v pfr: donkbetted trips on a 998 flop into a preflop raiser.

opfr 78s LMP: open-raised 78s in LMP

bs 22 78o J9o: Stole blind with these hands.

cc JTs: cold call JTs

nsb *** : Appears to not semi-bluff. The three stars mean that I have seen this three times, and is a reasonable read.

The second tier of notes will actually be written in English, which is a descriptive language of his play. This is usually done at the end of a session, and I’m not disciplined enough about doing it. When I do make these notes, it is great when I see a player again, and can quickly get a handle on his play. For example "LAG, likes to open-raise with many hands from MP on (any high card, suited gappers etc) , will play any playable hand very aggressively on flop, from monsters to gutshots, but will rarely completely bluff other than continuation bets”.
