Scary (or stupid) set of 6\'s hand.

We're about 4 handed at a 1/2 game and I'm sitting on about $80 when this hand comes up.

I find 6-6 in the SB.

Folds around to me and I raise to $10. BB calls.

Flop: K-J-6 with 2 clubs.

I bet $15. Call.

Turn: 8x

I bet $20. Call.

River: 10x

I check (is this a mistake?). BB bets $30

I think it over for a while, but finally call. I'll post results later, but what do y'all (yes, I'm from Texas) think?

You have about $55 left on the turn with a $50 pot (I think). I get it all-in on the turn. Why is this scary? Scary would be if a club hits the river.

With these stack sizes, try and be in by the turn. If not the turn, then the river.

Nothing scary here. Push the turn. If you lose to set over set oh well, it happens. If villain is hangin with AQ or 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] then charge him fro his draw.

4 handed with 40bb and a set with no flush I'm not scared by anything.

It looks like he has 2 pair and this an easy call.

However, if you are bothering posting this here, he probably made a straight.

As others have said, try to get it all in on the turn. However, since you weren't able to, I like checking here. If he was on a flush draw, he's not going to call your bet. However, he might bluff at the pot, and you would make extra money by doing this. Also, in the event he has a made hand, he might decide it is best and bet it. I like checking here. It is an immediate call though, no need to even think about it. You're getting 4 to 1.

You kept $5? Your line is fine, the call on the end doesn't need to be anything but immediate though. Barring some magnificent read, you are waaaay ahead of his range of hands. FWIW I like betting 20-30 on the turn better than pushing.

RESULTS

I sat around and thought about this for a minute or two and finally called.

She never played back at me, so I couldn't put her on an overset. If she called all of that betting on a long shot, 4 out draw, I could just chalk it up as a horrid beat.

I won the hand with my set and she turned over a pair of aces.
