If bush had given Afganistan 24hrs to turn over Osama or face complete extermination via nuclear weapons,What would have been the result?

It would have been like the feds saying to the Gambino family, give us John Gotti or else ... The implication is that if they cooperate, they can then carry on as usual -- in which case they will give him up. But ... we'd have to make good on our promise as well.

If we specifically said "nuclear weapons", every nation would have taken a side -- and most would have been against us. In the event we did it, most nations would re-align -- but they'd never trust us again.

I guess wed end up nuking Afaganistan since they have no idea where he is.
