Sunglasses For The Computer?
 

I was at the optometrist today, and she said that since I sit in front of a computer for 4-5 hours a day, it would be good if I wore sunglasses with UV protection. Has anyone else been recomended this?

Yeah, I do this, but only when playing poker.

Is this because of some particular eye condition you suffer from, or is she seriously suggesting everyone in an office job should crack out the Oakleys at 8am every day?

Or put an anti-glare screen with UV protection on your CRT, or use an LCD monitor.

After learning that I'm on the computer a ton helping the donks with their entertainment or working, my eye doc recommended anti-glare glasses.

She (and yes, she is very hot and looks very librarian in her glasses) did not mention UV protection at all. I wear contacts and she wants me to add some computer glasses when I'm actually sitting at the computer.

I'm thinking on it. I hate the idea, but when my wife frequently leaves town I'm staring at the screen many more hours a day and sometimes my eyes do get very tired.
