Re: AA KK AK what are the chances

Ways to get AA: C(4,2)
Ways to get KK: C(4,2)
Ways to get AK: C(4,1) * C(4, 1)

Number of starting hands: C(52, 2)

Probability of getting AA, KK, or AK:

(C(4,2) + C(4,2) + C(4,1)*C(4,1)) / C(52, 2) = 0.02112

This is around 46.36:1 odds.

Re: AA KK AK what are the chances

One opponent, given that you have AK, has:

C(3,2) + C(3,2) = 3 + 3 = 6 ways to get AA or KK out of C(50,2) = 1225 possible hands. So, the probability he has AA or KK is 6/1225 = 0.004898.

With no other information, the probability he has AA or KK is (C(4,2) + C(4,2)) / C(52,2) = 0.009050.

So, the fact that you have AK decreases the chances he has AA or KK from 0.9050% to 0.4898%.

Re: AA KK AK what are the chances

so in a full game (10 handed) if i have AK, the chances of anytone having AA or KK are approx: 20 to 1???

so is the about the same of someone holding AA if you hold KK?
