bricks and mortar or internet

I have been playing internet poker for about a year now with some success but am getting increasingly pissed with it now and i wont bore you with details you have heard before. I want to play proper poker with proper people.
So my question is what are the advantages and disadvantages of a casino and any tips for a virgin casino player would be most welcome

If by "proper poker" you mean, "I'm so pissed that all of these people keep hitting their gutshots and little two pairs," then A. B&M will be worse, and B. stop hating money.

If you mean you want to play with a group of people who are on the whole nicer and more civil, than B&M will be a little better than online, but there are assholes everywhere.

By proper poker i do mean a little friendy interaction face to face and yes i know i will come across people hitting miracle cards, i just think B&M is a step up and want to know what peoples views are on this

It's actually a step down as far as competition is concerned, but it's clearly a step up as far as enjoyment is concerened. It's fun to play with live people, fun to try to look for tells, fun to use chips, fun to get free drinks.

The forum FAQ should have just about everything you need to get yourself all set for live play unless you have a specific question.

Why do you say a step down, i thought looking for tells and trying to outplay your opponent are major parts of poker. Most people on the internet are playing so many tables they havnt a clue whats going on. That can sometimes be a good thing if you get lucky

I meant to say that at equivlent limits, players online will likely be better strategic players than B&M players.

That is not to say that B&M doesn't allow you to imploy a wider skill set, or that B&M may be where you play your best poker.

And you had to ask us for permission? You, sir, need to get away more often.

I'm not sure why but that's one of the funniest things I've read here in a week.

Be prepared to be bored out of your skull. Live games are incredibly slow. I'll do it once in while just for the break and the chance to watch people and try to start developing some reading skill, but unless you're playing higher limits, I can't imagine making much money at it.
