Music: I think I\'m a Blues fan, but need some direction....
 

...O.K., I need some advice on good blues albums/artists. To give you an idea of what I'm looking for, I'm a big Led Zeppelin fan. The really bluesy stuff they do I really enjoy. Where is my next step into blues?

Go with the Hendrix Blues CD, it's going to be closest to that I would guess.

Otherwise go with the obvious John Lee Hooker, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan and so on.

It depends on what kind of blues you're looking for. I'm a huge fan of real old delta blues stuff like blind lemon jefferson, robert johnson, guys like that.

I'm already a big fan of Hendrix and SRV. John Lee Hooker I'm sure I'm familar with, but can't pinpoit any songs or albums of his. Any JL Hooker albums that are standouts and must haves?

Old delta blues and Chicago blues are my favorite music. Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters are my #1s. For what it's worth, I also like SRV and Hendrix.

I can't think of any Blind Lemon off the top of my head, but Robert Johnson only recorded about 35 tracks and you I was able to find a full collection for like $25 at Tower.

Elvis-That's Alright Mama (LZ does great live covers of these two)

Check out John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Willie Dixon for electric blues.

Try the Yardbirds, Cream, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Paul Butterfield blues band for some bluesy rock.

You might like rockabilly. Try Link Wray, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran (Zep does a cover of "something else"), early Elvis.
