I hate/hate/hate mini-raising. Don't do it. You're giving draws the odds to go for them and costing yourself chips as well.

Newbie question: What's the rationale behind raising the flop? Aren't you afraid of running into a flopped flush?

i didn't min raise?? i rasied it 3x the bet on teh flop? i guess i should have put more..

i just watched that guy go broke for 300 bucks so fast

umm well i thought maybe the bettor on teh flop may have had it.. but i was pretty sure the guy calling was just callin with crap. (hes a loose cannon)

if he pushed then i woulda folded.. maybe im just stupid

here's my opinion. I want to raise pre flop becuase i have a good pre flop equity advantage with say, AA. I want people with inferior hands who will easily get dominated to call. As for someone flopping a complete, it happens, that's poker.

For example, let's say you didnt raise preflop with AA and you get 5 callers. and flop comes all clubs. Now, with 5 other players in the hand, the likelihood of one of them either flopping a flush or a flush draw is higher than had you raised and gotten only 2 callers.
