Do you have this in the US or is it just a UK based phenomenon? Basically it involves a person, usually 10-16 being beaten or gang raped etc, while other people film it on a mobile phone. Doesn't sound so happy eh.

Yes we do have things like people being beaten, we have something called bum fights, where people video tape people fighting homeless people. About the rape thing I don't know, I'm sure there are sickos out there doing that as well in the U.S.

Something like that happened in James City County in VA at a Park. A guy was sexually assualting a little girl and bystanders video taped it but did do anything to stop it.

I have a daughter and if I saw someone doing that to a little girl I would beat the hell out of them with a tire iron.

We live in a sick world folks.

when I read happy slapping I thought of something ENTIRELY DIFFERENT before I read the articles - I feel let down...

The moment it gets a name and publicity, the copy-cats are there! Incidents of bullying are common in every society but the name and the publicity will make it more prevalent in Britain.
