Taking 3+1 Challenge offline?

Since I'm struggling to find the time to finish formatting the Week #3 results and consolidate the totals, I'm thinking of following through on a proposed idea to take the 3+1 Challenge off of this forum, at least partially.

With the growing size of the field, it's becoming quite a drain to manage effectively.

One of two ideas:

a) Continue to post capping picks here. I would input picks manually into an off-site website and generate reports and data post-Challenge (each week) that I could post here (if it were simple to do)

b) Take the entire thing offline, forcing everyone to go to another website to put in their picks and view results.

Get your votes in.

I haven't voted, I'll do whatever is easiest for you.

I wonder how quickly it could all get done if a few people took various parts of the alphabet and you just dealt with correcting errors and making the totals look good (one alphabetical, one leaderboard style)

I'd happily take a portion of 25-30 names if others would do the same, and forward their records to you.

Edit: Just to clarify, you would hack the alphabet up into 4-5 equal sections and we would be assigned the letters. Then its 'simply' a case of looking for posts by people with our assigned letter in the main thread and tallying the totals for our assigned players.
If someone wasn't able to do it on a given week, I'm sure we could work something out.

Mason, Matt, mods- any issues with this?

If there are restrictions from 2+2 that I need to consider, please let me know.

by the way, enabling the Start time to something close to the current time forced the Start time into the next morning, on 9/30, blocking votes until then

You can't vote, due to the restriction that I got stuck with to wait until 9/30. I was trying to delete this post when you replied and killed it (just kidding, not your fault )

As long as the whole thing is not commercial (i.e., for profit), I don't think Mason and/or Mat will care either way.

BTW, if you want me to delete the post so you can redo the poll to start at a different time, just let me know.

If I were you, I would just do whatever is easiest for you. It would be nice to keep everything here, but I certainly wouldn't blame you for moving it into some sort of automated system to save you the trouble.

At this point, it's close enough that starting over isn't worth our time. Thanks for the offer.

As to easiest- I worry that the sports bettors would lose the value of the picks if they were moved offline completely.

We'll see how the voting goes

Do you do all of this manually right now?
