value of chips

I just bought my first set of chips.
Can You tell me if there are values for different colors ?
Or should we agree it before each game ?

Re: value of chips

If there's no value printed on the chips, then you are free to make up your own. If you use the same setup each time, then all will be well.

Standard casino denoms are $1 for white, $5 for red, $100 for black. If you want to use those three, use your blue to represent $25 chips. ($25 are usually green).

If you want higher values, like I said, just make em more. You can have $100 red, $500 blue, $1000 white, $5000 black. You can do whatever you want.

The most important advice, I repeat: ALWAYS try to use the same denominations every time. If everyone gets familiar to "red=$5", then there should be no problems. Consider posting a little sign where you play that lists the denoms.

City still closed. No real power in the city, they anticipate most of the city having electricity in three weeks.

Casinos are hurting.. Harrah's LC could be closed for up to 6 months, don't know about the Isle. The new one (L'Auberge) apparantly held up pretty well.

Re: value of chips

if you are playing home games like $20 buy-in I have mine set this way.

50cent sb/$1bb GAME ($20 BUY-IN)

White: 50 cents (6 of these)
red: $1 (7 of these)
Blue: $2 (5 of these)
Black: $10 (if the table is full 10 players and I don't have enough chips I usually swap someone with a black chip.

hope this helps, good luck

Most casinos:

White, $1
Yellow, $2
Red, $5
Blue, $10
Grey, $20
Green, $25
Orange, $50
Black, $100
Pink, $250
Purple, $500
Burgundy, $1000
Light Blue, $2000
Brown, $5000

But you can choose what you want. I know it was said before but be consistant with your denominations.

we usually play .10/.25 nlhe or .25/.50, so we use my red $5s as 5c, green $25s as 25c, black $100s as $1.
