I would've pushed pre-flop. Blinds are 400/800 and you have under 7K in chips. Good spot to try and take it down right there, and if you're called you're likely dominating a weaker ace or at least coin-flipping.

Your opponent may have called with the pocket 6's anyway and the outcome would've been the same, but you may have taken it all down pre-flop with a push.

Push preflop.

Push preflop.
You must push the flop when you get there. Not that it would have made a difference in this particular hand, but you have to push preflop and if you didn't- push the flop.

You have less than 10x the big blind in your stack, which means you have less room to maneuver in playing a hand. You should be planning to move in with your best hands. So, in this case, you should reraise all-in preflop. You will either win the blinds and dead money uncontested, or you will be in a coinflip or better with a chance to double up. Moving in preflop gives you the best chance of folding a hand like 66, who might not be willing to race with you. Moving in preflop also guarantees that you'll be able to see all 5 cards if you miss the flop, and you won't get played off your hand- although this is not a problem here.

On another note, with 13 people left, you should be looking for ways to get more chips. Let others try to fold their way onto the FT. The fact that you've been playing for four hours should not deter you from making the necessary push from the SB.

Yeah it was limit. Which makes it harder.

and thanks for the time and effort put into the posts.
God love this site.

If it was limit, I think you're still reraising preflop, but I also think you're going broke.

This hand is so boring and terrible and results oriented.

I'm sorry for being harsh. You have frekin 8bb or whatever and flop TPTK with AK.

What do u want to hear, check fold the flop?

point taken, it is a pretty boring hand. Just wanted to know if at any point I should have known to give it up.
