My boat just turned into K-high! River play?

Villian is new to the table so no read. Just shove the river and pray he doesn't have an ace? check/fold? urg!

Also, the turn is interesting...what's the best turn line?

I would bet, bet, bet. He doesn't have an ace. If anything, the river should be a check/call to snap off a bluff.

Check-call. He is not likely calling a bet with a hand you beat.

really, anything other than fold, although i perfer check-call. Villian has about 65-70 left into a 165 dollar pot, check-call or check-raise should be a good way to get that in there.

Isn't A-J a logical hand for villian to be holding here?

he probably has QJ or 77. Something like that.

Re: My boat just turned into K-high! River play?

I panic-pushed. He called with KJ...chop chop. Yeah a check-call is much better. Like I said I paniced.

Anyway, on the turn why is a bet here better than c/r? If I check he will DEFINITELY bet his jack whereby I can raise and build the pot so he's committed to my river push. If he has 77 - 10 10 then he'll likely fold if I bet again so if I check, he'll check behind but will likely call my value bet on the river.

Thoughts?

Why would he bet his J? To protect in case an ace or queen falls? Blah. He'll check his J and you'll lose value.

Edit: Also, there was another recent thread where I said someone would call in this situation with a K. Hahaha. I rule!

If I bet the flop it looks like a CB bet with AK/AQ if I check the turn doesn't it? If that's how he looks at it I'm sure he'd like to protect his hand.
