40-80 hand with well known poster -- basic ? (low content)
 

I was in a hand with one of the most prolific posters in mid stakes forum. Open raise from the hi jack, he cold called in sb with Q9 suited. This cant be correct in a tight 40-80 game, can it?

If he had a good read on the hijack and thought he could outplay him postflop, it's not terrible. Also, if he had a read that BB would fold and the pot would be HU, it's another reason to call. There just isn't enough information in your post to get me to disapprove of the SB's cold-call.
