Good MTT\'ers who arent 2+2ers

On stars, there are several players ontop the TLB leader board who are not 2p2 - at least I dont think they are

so my question is this..where do those players come from if they dont have a resource like 2p2? is there another 2p2 out there. Perhaps even better?

kind of a stupid question but im curious if there are any other good MTT forums out here. I know there is a stars player database where everyone registers their star name etc and exchange strategy, but i forgot the website.

pocketfives.com, and neverwinpoker.com are similar sites..

but i didn't start posting on 2+2 until this summer, and only lurked occasinoaly before that... and id like to think i was a decent player then too..

Don't need a resource like this to be good.

p5's but its nowhere as good as 2+2 as far as strategy. just alot of sweat threads, ranking threads etc.

there is neverwinpoker and fullcontactpoker but as far as i know its not that much strategy

while 2+2 is a great resource....not everyone NEEDS 2+2 to become a good tourney player.

Think about the live pros.
Ivey, Negreneau, Chan, Seed and Greenstein all got to be pretty decent (to varying degrees) without 2+2.

Some people are just decent at the game fairly quickly.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that you should be pretty tight, but aggressive in spots, and that the strategy changes when the blinds-rise and/or you are short-stacked.
Obviously there's a bit more to tourney-poker than that...but one can pretty much get by just playing smart/conservative...and then will figure out how to pick their spots for aggressiveness, bluffs, post-oak type bluffs, etc etc.

For example, I was doing 'post-oak' type bluffs before I even knew there was a name for it. And I'm certainly not that smart or a poker 'natural' or 'prodigy'.

Pocketfives forums have less to do with strategy and more to do with the online tournament "scene". I do read the articles there though. 2+2 > any other poker forum I've found.

RGP has been around for along time. many name pros started posting there before the poker boom. now you have to wade through all the garbage to get to anything of value at RGP.

Those rankings seem pretty arbitrary to me. I think a lot of the top spots are taken by people whom are close personal friends with the webmaster or something. This is just my estimate, but I don't think that most top online MTT players would agree with the top choices, correct me if Im wrong.

But okay it doesnt really matter...they are all probably very good players and huge winners. It's really hard to determine which ones are the "best". Any rankings of this sort are going to have to be pretty arbitrary, since there is no actual way to truly rate them.
