Tipping protocol?

I recently won (actually split 1st & 2nd)a tournament of 208 players. While waiting for the money, I realized I had no idea what was customary to tip the dealer or TD. My stake was about $3700. Does a standard exist? I hope my tip wasn't insulting.

id ask the dealer, $250 seems reasonable.

My understanding from reading other threads is that tipping 3% - 5% is standard. And I have never gotten the impression from those taking the tips from me that this is an insulting amount.

Asking the tourney director is always good. 3% at the Bike. But that includes all cashes, not just 1st.

I asked the tourney director at Binions and he said 5% - 10%. I have never seen a range this high discussed anywhere else.
