Hand from the $50+R on PS. How do you proceed on this flop
 

The Villain in this hand is colsen10 and as usual he has been very very active. 3rd to act he makes a standard raise and I defend my blind with Q8 suited and flop a flush draw. I know that colsen's range is off the charts here so How should I approch the betting?

When he's 3rd to act, his range isn't 'off the charts' at all. It's very much so in the charts. Button/CO/hijack is another story. Soooo...I would probably fold pf.

I dont think his range is off the charts either especially since rebuy period is over. I would fold pf, but on the flop would lead out for 500 and 3-bet a raise.

I would fold preflop too. Q8 isn't really a favorite any raises from MP1 (unless he's raising with complete garbage), and you have no position. It's hard playing these flush draws profitably out of position.

Colson probably isn't going anywhere with a flop of this texture.

I'd lead out here, maybe 3/4 pot or so.

Against strong players on this raggedy ass flop, leading into them will induce a raise a high % of the time... and then you can put the 3 bet (most likely a jam) and then they are in a tough spot to call

I like this line much more then going for a check raise.. as your stack is in a betwixed position.. you check.. he bets 900.. and you jam for 6k more?? nah, that doesn't do it for me

you bet 900.. he raises it to 2.5k or so.. then jamming for 6k makes a lot more sense

With big (ish) draws.. try and engineer the situation so that you are ultimately the one putting the final (and logical) bet into the pot

leading out hoping to induce the raise lets you do this.


If he calls the flop and you blank the turn, then its time to re-evaluate.
