300 BB?

Im new to limit hold'em but I have played NL for a long long time

One of the most important things about this game is making sure you are playing at the right table at the right stakes so that you are not playing w/ 'scare dmoney' I have heard that 300BB is appropriate for limit holdem but does that mean

Big Blind
or
Big bet?

I played 1/2 blinds with 300 bank roll and turned it to 600 in nearly 2 days. I know that I have been very lucky, but was i playing over my head?

So pretty much just define big blind

thx

It means big bets. Also, some people think 300 is not enough. I personally think 400-500 is better.

500 is for safety purposes. But I feel like we've had the 'How many BB post' a billion times.

What?
Maybe im not understanding what ur post is saying but i assume u are not looking for the definition of big blind.

In tougher mid limit games i would have more than 300. if ur playing 5-10 type live games where u make a killing off flushes, straights and sets 300 is probably plenty.

An advantage to having a bigger bankroll is that downswings (inevitable) will sting less. I like having a roll that is ridiculous for the limit i normally play. But that is partly because i take shot s at higher limits.

If its a decision between buying a new toy or keeping ur bankroll at a safe level than do the latter obviously.
