Turn action

Canterbury 30/60 (9 handed)
UTG (huge fish) limps, another limper, guy who is running absurdly hot raises, SB (is a gambler...does some weird stuff, but I haven't seen him go competley insane yet.) calls, I call in the BB with 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], limpers call.

Flop (5 players): Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

SB checks, I bet, UTG calls, limper folds, PFR'er calls, SB calls.

Turn: T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
SB checks, I bet, UTG calls, PFRer calls, SB raises , I.......

Agree about 3 bet turn quick. I almost always just call here preflop though, especially when the limpers are bad and know they wont fold for two more. I also like to be able checkraise decent flops in this spot rather than lead out after a three bet. I guess I could be pursuaded that raising is a good alternative, wouldnt mind hearing why you like a raise.

Sometimes yes sometimes no. I'm not sure I'm giving up all that much by calling, and there was no way I was limiting this field.

3 betting pre-flop is dumb.

[/ QUOTE ]i just see four bad hands here.
if the flop comes J64 id rather already have the lead and bet the flop... i feel like this allows me to win more when ahead and keeps ppl pure so i can get off when i get raised...
besides, if these guys have A6,33,and T7s then i want more money to go into the pot.

I also call with 99 in the BB with 5 players in if I'm not limiting the field. Are you sure a 3-bet won't cause any limpers to fold? If you are then fine. If not, 3-bet.

I 3-bet the turn. There's not many hands that beat you here and 3-betting will find out soon enough.

Re: Turn action

i call the turn. To checkraise the whole field, when that card brought in 2 double gutters and 3 of the 9's are accounted for, I think he has kj or j8 about 90% of the time. Sure you want to shut out the rest of the field unelss the guy has specificly q10 or bottom set whatever that was but I think your behind way to much here to 3 bet.
