reraising with mid-pairs to isolate

10-20/20-40 Mirage...typical solid locals and loose tourists.

I'f I'm in mid to late position with a mid pocket pair (77, 88,99), I will invariably reraise to isolate the initial raiser.

Good, aggressive poker or too reckless?

Naturally, I'm not usually doing this against an UTG raiser who has proven to be solid. But otherwise, I do it as a matter of course.

Opinions?

What about if there have been one or two limpers BEFORE the initial raiser? Doing this with TT and JJ is obviously the right play, but what about 77-99? With 77, I usually just call, but to do so with 88 and 99 against more than 2 other opponents seems like I'm just hoping to hit a set, and therefore,a little weak...am I wrong?

now what about doing this online 5-10 or above?
