Don't think you can call that bet...what are you really hoping for? Did you consider smooth calling the flop?

Yea, I did consider smooth calling, but I just figured with that flop smooth calling would pretty much completely define my hand.

Re: Another 2/4 trips hand

you know, 5handed and 157bbs (effective stacks) it helps in an unraised pot having some sort of read. like... his 3bet seems like he wants a fold. he's putting in 1/3rd of his stack. so if you call you know the rest goes in. (and if you're to play on, calling>pushing just because the few times he has a random bluff OR the times he folds worse trips to a push)

it really depends on his pf vpip... like... it's a bayes theorem question. IF he would fastplay ALL trips AND 55, note the combos - #hands that beat you (A9, K9, Q9, J9, 95, 55) and #hands you beat (89,79,69, 94/93/92???) and split of t9.

this generally looks to me like a fold, but once again, it does depend on the opponent and flavor of the shorthanded game.

He's ready to play for 150bb's right now. He's got you beat.

I really didn't have any read at all, I am new to this level and didn't notice any particulars about this opponent. I, as most of you advocated, folded the hand.
