Question on running bad

What's the longest you've run bad - in terms of hands, OR PT BB's, if that's how you measure it?

My longest is about 10K hands of break even poker.

Then you haven't played many hands of poker.

more than 50k hands where actual results are significantly less than equity calculations would indicate.

Considering Iceman's very tight/straight forward style in full ring games which until very recently were 2/4 or below, this is not an unreasonable #. One of the benefits of TAG is that variance is very, very low compared to LAG.

I estimate that Ive played in the range of a million hands if I count all the way back to when I was playing $5NL. Id say thats quite a few.

Ive had one 8 buy in down swing, 1 6 buy in down swing and quite a few 4 buy in losses.

The most frustrating streak was the 10K hands of break even poker.

I dont think this is that outrageously unbelievable considering how tight I play preflop.

Im still playing very tight, but since moving up to $5/$10 last month, Ive strayed quite a bit from "straight forward" play post flop. My variance has gone up some, so I may see some bigger swings in the future.

OK..didnt mean any disrespect. I'm so used to 6max that it kinda narrows my thinking on this subject. I guess playing super-tight full ring will allow a good player to have such low variance.
