35,000 hands Party 15/30

and I am running at 18.59/9.79/1.92 and a whopping 0.22 BB/100. At least I have a {censored} deal. The online game is just so much more tight/aggro than live play. I have the utmost respect for those of you that can pull 2+BB/100 in the 15 and 30 games. I guess this means I suck, eh?

let me be the first to say... "SAMPLE SIZE"

35K hands is nothing... Thats barely enough to take a wild guess on your play

When you have 10x that number you will have a really good idea of how bad you suck [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

since when is > 0BB/100 that bad? with the "deal" you must be making ok money (though you didn't say how long it took you for the 35K hands).

you cant play the same game in an live 30 and an online 30 and expect to kill them both.

I think so many people on this site overstate sample size such as "you shouldnt move up a level until your up for 100k hands" or some garbage like that. When you tell people that it doesnt matter their sample size is too small it stops many from really examining their game. I can see if he said he had 10k hands, but 35k hands is over a month of play for most online pros and most online pros i know do not have losing months let alone months where they run for less than 1bb/100.

I agree with this completely. If your goal is to know your true win rate, fine - maybe you need several hundred thousand hands. But if you just want to know if you are a winning player, you could just have an expert watch you play for a few hours and you can get a pretty accurate assessment. I mean - you know if you're running well or not. If you play 10K hands and run like crap and still end up a decent amount...you're probably a winning player.

Don't worry, Mempho. Games gets tougher and since 3bb/100+ long run isn't possible at 15/30+ until you're god- swings growing more. I have had 0.6bb/100 after 55K hands at 30/60 and quit this game for a while. After i returned - games didn't changed at all according to my PT and in my last 17K hands i was running at 4.5bb/100 averaging after all at 1.7bb/100 after 72K hands which i guess is quite close to my true winrate. So don't make quick decisions, examine your PT and find some holes, change your play slightly as i see you have some spots to play looser and maybe less predictable.

I was breakeven after 40K hands in that game. I've done much better since. Even if you can't make 2+BB/100 it is worth playing.

Even if you do suck, you are probably very close to beating that game. I certainly improved over those 40K hands and that helped.

Those stats alone aren't enough to tell us that you suck. However, you likely have some leaks and you should be winning 2+ BB/100 in the 15 game (though not necessarily in the 30).
