Research on going broke, please take poll.

Hi.

Recently I've had a number of thoughts on going broke and
realized that it is not only different for everbody, but
that there are likely different perceptions on what going
broke is.

Please answer honestly, and all comments are welcome.

Thanks, mosquito.

Did you want this related directly to poker or to life in general?

I thought going broke was when you lost your entire poker bankroll. And since this is a very small portion of my money I would never get upset about it. And it only happened once and that was before I found 2+2. The thought of not having money for rent, food money, or basic living expenses is very scary to me.

Edit: I didn't take the poll I think I would mess up the results for you.

Yes. Life in general, poker if you play pro.

So, take the poll. Think about from a life perspective.

I first answered with life in general in mind, so my poll answers don't need to change.

For this to be worthwhile, you should survey by age. In my late teens/early twenties, I thought little of going broke. In fact, I chucked it all and went into business for myself. Don't think I'd be willing to do that now.

I also think that when you're young is the time of life when you probably should chase big gains and not worry too much about going broke. However, when you get to my age (position in life), going broke is very undesirable. There are too many responsibilities, kids, etc. to even entertain the idea of putting yourself in a position of going broke. Broke is for the young.
