live br for 10/20

As of right now I am playing 5-10 limit with a br of around 1k and i am doing fairly well coming home with about 15-25 big bets. I am really getting sick of playing the 5-10 the players just suck, I know I can stick around and take their money but I want to get better not just stay the same limit.

What size of bankroll should I have if I want to play 10/20? Thanks.

General rule is @300BB to be able to play at a level and deal with the vaariance. Some play with as little as 100B and some, like me, much prefer something along the lines of a 500BB bankroll, but then again, I'm going to be doing this full time, so the extra 200BB will be a safety net.

To play comfortably at a level, I'd suggest 300BB unless you are just "taking a shot" at a higher level. If that's the case, whatever you feel comfortable with. The 300BB "rule" is for moving up in levels, not just hit 'n running.

cool thanks guys thats gonna be alot of help, i dont really want to make it a job because im still in school and have a pretty good bouncing job, but i play for fun and a little extra cash for booze and other fun things like strippers and such, would a bankroll that hi still be a good idea, but i will say 5000 is a good number to work to just to say i know i have played enough hands and made enough its time to change,

You should at least try to get a big enough bankroll for 5-10 first.

$1000, comon mang. thats not even enough for 2/4. for 5/10 your bankroll should be 3 dimes.

i highly suggest that instead of moving up, you should seriously considering dropping down and grind up a roll first.

1000 not enough for 2/4 ur crazy.....if you could stand the variance with that much over time then u shouldnt be playing

If you can't multiply 4 x 300 to get to 1200 you shouldn't be playing. Limit poker has large uncontrollable swings occassionally.
