Borgata Open

Who's playing? Which events?

I plan on playing in the 1000, 1500, and 2500, 9/14, 9/15, 9/16.

Does anyone have ANY idea how many players are expected at these tournaments?

I'm thinking about playing the $1000 "Warm Up" they are holding on Labor Day. Anyone else?

Will play 12,13,14. Maybe 11th and 15th as well. Read something on RGP yesterday that the 11th might be sold out by the end of this week or something. Last year opening event $1000 drew about 480 players.

My girlfriend and I will be playing in the Warmup event. It's hard to pass up a tournament with that structure. I've heard estimates from poker room staff that only about 150 are expected. Any different estimates?

We're going up on Sunday and will probably be at the 1/2 NL wearing 2+2 shirts both days. Come by and say hi.

Last year they did not allow you to register until the 9AM the morning of the event. When I arrived at 8:45 there was a line wrapping around the poker room and into the race book room. By 9:30 the line was wrapping around itself all through the room. That was to get 485 people registered at 2 windows at the cage. They were still registering people an hour after the tournament started. I hope they learned a lesson and will do it differently this year.

Has anyone heard if they are going to make these smaller events multi day events or are they doing them as marathons? Last year the final table of the $1,000 finished at 6:30AM after starting at noon the day before. I am not complaining because it was a nice check, but I wanted to be prepared just in case.

On the website they say the tournies are two day events. They also state that you can register starting as of two days ago.

Will the Warm Up be like this (huge field) or just the actual WPT events?
