KK shorthanded 100NL

100NL, shorthanded...

CO just joined the table and picked up a pot with a small raise on the flop. I lost a big pot with AK against A4s after that.

CO ($101.25)
Hero ($60.25)

Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls, CO raises $4 , Hero raises $16 , 3 folds, CO calls.

Flop: ($34.5) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
CO checks, Hero ...

My preflop raise may have looked pretty tilted after my previous loss. I think I´m ahead here. What´s the best play - simply push because I have only got slightly more left in front of me than what´s in the pot, or make a weak bet to try and get more money in?

I rebuy to $100 before the hand

Your stack, I probably bet $30 and take down the pot or call raise. If called call/bet balance on turn on any card.

its kinda hard to mess this up real bad. are you looking for a specific betting amount? anything around 25-30 is fine

As long as you don't give him the free card, you're ok.

Bet the pot.

I would consider making a smaller bet. Maybe 15 or so. I want villain to call, and anything he calls on the flop will make him pot committed on the turn. A flush draw is unlikely, so you are hoping villain has something like AQ, or maybe even a smaller pp. Make a small bet, entice him in and make him pot committed and you will double up.

Id say bet 25 and get the rest in asap.
Your only worry here is probably QQ and if he had that - unlucky sir.

I think the likeliest holding for villain is a lower pocket pair. You need to bring him in on this one...make it look like you havent hit. He may push with TT, 99.

Re: KK shorthanded 100NL

I'd push the flop. If you make a pot sized bet and he calls it on a draw, you can't push him out on the turn because you'll be betting about $20 into a $90 pot and he'll be right to call....since any pot sized bet on the flop commits you, you might as well push it in here. You have the added benefit of him thinking that you might be steaming.
