What do you do while your opponent is making his decision?

I'm more accustomed to online play than live, so I worry about giving tells because of inexperience. Hence, whenever I'm in a hand and the action is on the other guy, I lean forward slightly (for comfort), keep totally stonefaced, and burn a hole in one of the board cards.

Seems to work ok.

I think about baseball statistics, trunks full of dead grandmothers, my cat being flayed alive, and repeat to myself "don't come, don't come"

Wait, what are we talking about?

Depends on if you want him to call or fold....

If I want a call, I cross my hands, breath easy and look at a spot on the felt until he makes his decision.

Stare at the table while I shuffle chips whenever I bet over 200, or move all in

After reading this suggestion on 2p2 a few weeks ago, I actually tried this and it worked. When I wanted a call holding the nut flush, I gave the guy about 15 seconds in the tank, then I took out a white chip and flipped it to a dealer, as an anticipated toke. He called.

Yikes. Very nice, but if it was me in that hand and I saw you do that, my cards would be in the muck before the dealer could bank his tip.

I focus on my opponent to try and reverse the situation and make him uncomfortable instead of vice versa. Also if it's a situation where he's going to re-raise me I want to see if I can pick up a tell on him.

I'm usually rolling my eyes and tapping my hands nervously on the table waiting for the slow motherfucker to make a decision.
