MUSH & LUSH - splitting HUSH.
 

The idea has been bantered about a lot in HUSH, but I've never seen it talked about by anyone who can actually make these decisions. The traffic in HUSH is getting out of control with the influx of .5/1, 1/2, and 3/6 6max games recently, and a lot of the regular contributors would like to see a split between midhigh and lowlimit HUSH games -- probably either at 5/10+ or 10/20+. A lot of the most respected posters think the split should be at 10/20, and I tend to agree, though that forum wouldn't get a ton of traffic.

Anyway, just wanted to propose it to anyone who can actually do something about it. I'd be happy to moderate one (or both) of the forums if we make a split.

I know this is not what has happened in practice, but in theory should HUSH not be for more games beside hold em, particularly limit hold em? It seems that is the focus of HUSH, esp since Party has created 3/6 and .5/1 6 max. In theory it seems that a HU or 3 handed stud hand could apply.

I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not: how about short handed lower stakes and higher stakes LHE forums under the rubric of Limit Hold em? I know we could add new forums ad nauseum, but this seems to makes sense to me. There could be a Higher stakes short handed under the mid/high forum and a lower stakes SH under the SS forum.

I also agree that making the split at 10/20 would make sense for substantive reasons. The quantity of regular posters would be low, but the quality of the dialog would be what I, as a lurker on this theoretical forum, would like to see most.

As the newest moderator of HUSH, any further word on this? The traffic has gotten very high, and there is a clamor for it in response...new posters find their posts drowned out, and veteran ones find that it's difficult to maintain the high standard of discussion that HUSH is known for.

Also, Schneids said he'd post regularly in mid-high hush. This alone should necessitate the split post-haste. [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

I completely agree with Surf. This split is direly needed.

(Also, and I apologize if I am out of line making a suggestion of this sort, I think sthief09 and Schneids should be the moderators for the new MUSH forum).

Sthief definitely. Schneids if he wants, but he may not feel like he's on 2+2 enough. However, this might force him too [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

However, if there is gonna be a third HU forum whereas the other 2 are more SH, then Schneids should get HU, he'd be more into that i think.
