I\'ve got 77 and 7BBs, 7th to act. Feeling lucky?

Stars 500K 2k/4K blinds, 200 ante.

MP3: 15200
Hero: 27500
SB: 50500 (after posting)
BB: 3100 (after posting)

Hero picks up 77 on the button. MP3 Goes AI for 15200. CO folds. Hero's play?

I'm assuming this isn't some sort of bubble situation where BB folds if you push.

BB is priced in so thats 15k into a 27k pot.

MP3's range actually tightens a little because he knows BB is calling so he has a hand with some value.

I think I fold and retain my FE losing cripples me and I think I can find a better spot than 77 in a 3-way pot.

geez, I'm sorry. Too late for an edit but the BB has 31K, not 3100

Read dependent I'd say,

but without a read I'd be inclined to fold here and preserve your chips. 77 is just strong enough to warrant coming over the top here, but you are likely coin-flip/behind to MP so this is probably a slightly negative EV play...

Since I read the whole thread I see that the BB has 31k so MP3's range is substantially higher than if the BB had 3.1k. I would say a good player's range would be 55-AA, AT-AK, KT-KQ, 45s-QJs, possibly some holdings like T8s, 86s, basically his range is huge, and I like getting my chips in when I am probably the favorite to his range.

I assume you are trying to possibly keep the BB in the hand here? Against a BB who is very aware of pot odds, I can see calling, and pushing or calling any flop.

Pushing isnt scaring the BB off if you are crushed anyway, so I dont mind trying to entice a call out of him here. I think this play adds CEV and loads of variance (which isnt bad with yout stakc size)

Mp3 has <5xbb, his range is any two cards if he is a decent player.

I don't necessarily see a good player pushing 24s, 23o, 72o, 92 etc. I would say his range isn't exactly any 2 cards, but somewhat close to it, with more hands in the range of a coinflip than if it actually was any 2 cards

How much are people defending at this table? Two steals and you've got 16k (assuming 10 handed). If it's a tight table, I think your safer building your stack this way. Otherwise I call thinking I'm likely ahead of the range MP3 can have and hope for the best.

Couple other factors might change my mind such as avg chip stack at your table as well as rest of the tournament plus the payout structure.
