what anti-virus software to use?
so my free trial period for mcafee is up and im wondering is it worth buying it for the next year or is there any better (or equal?) software available for free?
its not that i mind paying the fee but if i can get something the exact same for nothing, whats the point in paying for it? im not that great of a technical mind when it comes to virus protection and would like something that will do the work for me so if it finds a virus, it automatically deletes it and i dont have to do much except maybe run the scan...... any advice appreciated |
Re: what anti-virus software to use?
I use Avast which is free software, and I like it.

Re: what anti-virus software to use?
I switched from Norton's to Avast last year and would never go back. Not only is Avast free to home users but I think it works better and also auto-updates its virus database.

There are often moral principles that compete with each other. An example of two, "It is good to help others" and "It is good to help yourself". [/ QUOTE ] McAfee is the nuts. I've tried all of the freebies (Avast, Zone Alarm, etc.) and everything else, and I've never been happier with McAfee. It's easy to use, unobtrusive, reliable, and not that expensive for the peace of mind. Screw all that free crap--it ain't worth it. |
Re: what anti-virus software to use?
