Convince me I played this correctly before I go insane!

At the B&M last night, I am playing 5/10 Hold'em. Current Bad Beat Jackpot for Aces full beaten is $64K and change.

I am EP2.

EP1 Raises, I look down and I have 2,2 and fold.

Flop is A,2,2.

I will give you one guess as to what EP1 has?

I know folding 2,2 to a raise is the correct play from EP but damn that was a $16K+ fold.

What were the table conditions like? Was it likely that there would be callers behind you? Was EP1 a tight raiser? Were there any limpers before the raise?

All of these factors are crucial in deciding what to do with deuces here.

I agree, this may have very well been a huge blunder EV wise.

There are times when you have to adjust your odds to tailor the jackpot. Aces full gets beat quite often (about 1 in 25000 for aces full of jacks) so you have to adjust your odds somewhat. If you have K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and the board is A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] you would almost surely call a bet getting only 5:1 or whatever where you would insta-muck it in a non-jackpot game.

I have never adjusted when I play jackpot games, I play my normal style, I will not cold-call with pocket pairs that I wouldn't normally play. However I see this as a commonly advocated thing by locals when I travel to play in jackpot rooms (most recently at Commerce and Casino Arizona). This is both good (creates additional action, likely winning hand hesitant to raise to avoid chasing out pocket pairs) , and bad (AKs aggressor gets busted by 22 which would normally fold pre-flop if it wasn't for the jackpot... a good problem to have of course but a downside none the less).
