whats with all the old guys playing omaha live?
 

I play at a bunch of cardrooms by my house and I started out as a hold'em player and now find myself sitting with tons and tons of old grumpy dirty old men at the omaha hi/lo games. How come they play this game so much? It's getting a little weird sometimes as I'm the only guy under 80. And these guys, man are they cranky as hell. They get up, yell, scream, make whiny faces, throw cards at the dealer, slam the table... these old fart degenerates really make it depressing to play sometimes.

I hate to admit this, but apparently old people are the only ones that have an open mind when it comes to casino games or something because every casino I go to, the only people playing high low are old people, young people only play holdem. I am also the only young guy at the high low tables, old people bash me all day at the live tables, I rarely go because of that, its not worth it to play 3/6.

because they are old. who knows what old people think.

You will clean them up though as they are very stubborn, and generally a very old school game have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed, heres a little story of how depressing it can be.

I went to the casino to play omaha high low and I was playing tight because it was 3/6 and I was barely starting to play and also because its common knowledge that tight aggressive is the only way to play limit.

So after about 1 hour of me not playing much since I aint getting much I get one or two hands and an old guy snaps, hes telling the whole table, hes got A/2 every time I call. He also starts telling the whole table, kind of yelling, dont give him action hes got a big hand, he never plays anything. Everytime he folded he would say "I had the second best hand, but he has the best one, dont give him action." He did this for the rest of the session which was about 4 hours. The annoying thing is that he had like 3 of his buddies at the table with him or something, they kept nodding and agreeing.

However on a because they are old note, the table coach snapped when I broke one of his buddies, I won about 15BB off them, but its not really much and wasnt worth the drive and getting yelled at for 5 hours, its just not worth it for 100 bucks.

I'm pushing 60. I was playing 4-8 at the Orleans, and, as is my wont, was raising a lot when near the button. This was vexing the guy to my left, who finally said, "Young man, half the players at this table are professionals. If you keep raising like that, they're gonna bust you." I was so excited about being called a young man that I started hitting on the cocktail waitress. She just laughed at me.
